Taking a photo; Making a photo. The difference

Making photographs as opposed to taking photographs. There is a difference in this two. Good photographs are taken, great photographs are made. With all the melee and excitement directed at a final image few people ever wonder what it takes to produce the moment. However, there are photos that when taken are just as good as those made. The following images show the steps and journey to the creation of a masterpiece. It started out well with the event ongoing and led to the conception of a great idea.

Arrived midway through the event

Had to look for a way through the crowds

Shot of the ceremony and graduation square from a vantage point

End of ceremony; distinguished guests arrive
Graduands milling around while the ceremony was going on

Guests, parents and business men and women were at work.

The exodus

While we waited to create the shot we worked shooting various people and scenes

We waited

people took their time leaving

but the guests were seemingly busy and filed out fast

still we waited....

and got pissed waiting

but we did some pro bono work for few friendly faces

we made friends

and met and shot a band doing what they do

then the shoot started

trying out various poses

and clumsy antics

when the coast was clear prepping started

the location was not perfect but it was ideal

we had to scout for something that suited the intended desire

makeup and clothes were models own hahaha

Perfecto!!
find here the final masterpiece

after we scouted alternate spots

and created mementos of a lifetime

it is befitting to say the lens and the model were in-sync

and the day ended on a high.
It took hours of waiting, a great set of eyes and a determined lot to pull this off. It may look like the Job was simple but it was not. When they think they can pull off what you did in a lesser time then you have done a good job. This was poetry with the lens look out for more images of delight.

Desire vs Imagination: I'm I foolish to keep on hoping?

“When your desires and your imagination are in conflict, your imagination always wins the battle.”  Emile Coue

I longed to find the one
just one
I longed to sit and share moments of what I was
of what I would become
I longed to have another by my side
that was my desire
then I found one
the one
I thought she had another
and another
for I never felt like I mattered enough to her
for her
I was always looking to see her part
that was my imagination
I sat alone again
and hoped that she would take my plea
my begging my requests
I changed my imagination
centered on my desires
it was late too late
it started with no we cannot keep this up
it ended in "never! This can NEVER be"
and now the imagination won
I have to content with this state
at least until I know my fate
I longed to find the one
and even when I had her within my reach
I let my imagination win
but my desires still burn me inside
they nudge me
they prod me
this desires have a mind of their own
tell me I'm I a fool to keep on hoping?

what is it about children?

what about a child draws us to them
is it their inquisitiveness?
their humility?
is it their innocence?
their submissiveness
I gave no Idea
I just know children make the best subjects of photography
their emotions are raw and real
they barely have enough time to fake a smile
when they are happy they are happy
when they are sad they are sad
what baffles me most about them is their ability to find inner peace
they can sleep right in the middle of a hurricane

looking for mr. perfect

She always wanted it right
Her hair,
Her dolls,
Her room,
Her life
Just right
Girls are made from sugar, spice and everything nice
All her ingredients were in quantity twice
In quality thrice
And no one knows exactly
The time taken to create her kind
She was particular
She was stellar
She was unique
It was seen by how she held her umbilical cord to her teeth

At seven,
She arranged her dolls facing left on the window sills
They should catch sunlight evenly if they want to stay beautiful
She argued.
At eleven she made modifications to her christmas present
Mother gladly remade it to her specifications
At thirteen, she convinced a city to change a law that allowed parents to deny teens TV time
She never watched tv herself.

At seventeen, she was head of almost everything that needed leading.
Now at 27, she is hell bent at finding her Knight.

She spends time in the night observing looking at her subjects
Poring through their lives and picking through their weakness
She is bold and walks up to each man she thinks fits the bill
Do you like dogs?
Her only rehearsed and overused pick up line.
Anyone that doesn't answer, fails
Anyone that doesn't know, fails
Anyone that hesitated, yet answers is a liar who fails
She doesn't tire, she doesn't search in one specific spot.
She knows what she wants she will search for it until she gets it.
She gets what she wants, always.
